Project C41-L15 was a bio-engineering project in a distant blacksite, designed to be a perfect soldier that could adapt to any situation and fight with the strength of an army. They possessed super-strength, hyper-reflexes, and the ability to change the shape and material characteristics of their body on a dime. All plans regarding their development were quickly scuttled, however, when the project's head scientist disappeared along with all research documents on the subject, and C41-L15 escaped from their containment cell and blitzed the facility's exit before security could properly respond. While a tracking chip was embedded within C41-L15's form, said tracking chip was found ejected on the ground ten miles from the facility and no trace of C41-l15 has been discovered since.

Several months later, Cai arrived by boat in the city of Crescere. It's taken them a long time to get settled, and they still struggle with some of their instincts from the lab, but they've found a stable home, a passion in painting, and even love in their spouse Jil. They spend their time either helping out with Jil's potion shop or streaming themselves painting to a reasonably popular audience.
